As many of you may already know, Aveline de Rais Rubinshteyn [links to obituaries may be found here], passed on the 28th January this year. While her funeral was held in Melbourne on the 4th of this month, a memorial service is to be held for her this weekend in Canberra.
The details are as follows [on-line details are here ]
Time - 3pm
Date - Sunday 25th February
Place - The Basement
Address - Cohen St, Belconnen
Theme – Punk Pink
I have tried to send this message to as many members of the Canberra Role-playing community, SCA and general Canberrites that may have known Aveline as I could using the following lists:
TD_OOC list; OOC-Avatar; Canberra Events [both Yahoo list and Live Journal]; Wild Wild West list; MP mail out list [from last sent email]; personal contact email
If you know anyone I have missed – please pass this on. Apologies to any who may have received it more than once.
BTW - Should you wish to call/contact me, please be aware that I only have my [pre-pay] mobile phone now [i.e. No landline] and am unable to pick up voicemail messages due to lack of credit. I can still receive sms messages and, for 69 times, send them. If you send me an email, please do not expect an immediate or even soonish response as my access to the internet is sporadic and only occassionnally of enough time to both read and respond to any correspondence.

JUNE
1st - At the beginning of the month
Ten years plus - a meme attack
Part 2 of said attack OK - so I went a little crazy...
13th - Just before the middle June.
15th - And the middle...
SEPTEMBER
1st - Thoughts on cooking
7th - To peeve or not to peeve - that is the question!
8th - Musings
10th - Stuff what I have been doing
Is it just me or does Santa look like he's wearing 'Doc's'? is from this post
And for today...
Well, I'm now one step closer to my worst nightmare - dying alone and old. I have the paper work to try and get on the waiting list for public housing and am dreading the thought of moving in [should it be accepted]. Not just for the aforementioned reason though, I've heard too many horror stories about housing accommodation, especially the apartment buildings, to be any degree of comfortable with the idea of living there but when the option is trying to survive on $40/week or moving ... - not a lot of choice really.
The upside of having so little money is that, since the beginning of March, I've now lost 12 kgs and have had to get some more clothes out of storage because my usual togs of the past few years are just too big to wear now. I still manage the odd occasional binge but I just can't afford it as much as I could before.

No, I'm not back, just visiting via an internet library terminal but, as I've been journalling whilst absent from the net, I thought I'd upload it here just because. There's a bit so I've backdated some of it and just made links here so that you can read my ramblings in order without having to search back for them [if you're just reading this on your flist].

A page from
erudito's book
I tend to read the odd/strange news of the world in the hope of finding something to smile at from the reporters of the world.
Even the omens didn't know what was happening this election Baseball, Football, Bloodline All Failed Kerry Bid
This one struck me as an unusual piece for the odd news, perhaps they thought their American 'friends' might not like to know what other parts of the world really think. Bush Makes Not-So-Good Headlines in Europe
But then again if this can happen Man Wins Election Without Campaigning ... Or this Luck of draw: Queen of clubs settles election in a rural Nevada county
For those Americans really upset with the election results Americans who say no to Bush can say yes to Canada
