Where were these when I was a kid? Want now!

Not having enjoyed xmas very often as a kid, I don't tend to celebrate the silly season. It sort of sits up on the same shelf with my birthday and rarely gets dusted off at all. That said, on the rare occassion I take it down, I do so with some style.
I loathe tacky tinsel decorations, gawdy gee-gaws, faded old has been stuff that belongs in a bin not on a tree/in a window/nailed to a door/whatever. Most of all the tacky tinsel ropes that people persist on hanging everywhere.
When I go browse-shopping, I find things. Today was one of those days. My prop box inherited a fake long cigarette holder, the present box scored a find just waiting for the right person to be in need of a gift and I made a WONDERFUL discovery. Gothic tinsel! Strands of black tinsel rope [some all black and some with white tips] in amongst the chrissy decorations of one of my favourite browsing shops that I hadn't been into for ages. I may just have to go back and get some to decorate with this year.
